AcCE Management visits Legon VC

Accra College of Education (AcCE) Management on Tuesday, December 11, 2021, paid a courtesy call on the first female Vice Chancellor of the country’s premier university, University of Ghana, Legon and third female Vice Chancellor of the country after University of Cape Coast, U.C.C and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, K.N.U.S.T appointed female Vice Chancellors.

Accra College of Education has a long history with University of Ghana. History states that the College (then Government Teacher Training College) was relocated from its campus at the current premises of Achimota Senior High School to begin education department of University College of Gold Coast affiliated to University of London in 1948.

Since the appointment of the late David Mowbray Balme, the first Principal of Ghana’s premier tertiary institution till now, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo was appointed as the first female Vice Chancellor to fill the gender biased leadership of the university.

Accra College of Education is one of the six Colleges of Education affiliated to University of Ghana from the 2018/19 Academic Year. The Principal of the College, Dr. Samuel A. Atintono was accompanied by, The Vice Principal, Mrs. Elizabeth Aikins, the College Secretary, Mr. Clement Afriyie Oppong, and the College Librarian, Ms. Augustina Agyekum.
