Accra College of Education Celebrates Outstanding Achievement in The Young Achievers Awards 2026.
Accra College of Education is proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement of one of its students, Master Kentera Abongo Justice Jnr., who emerged the overall winner of the Youth Insurance Professionals (YIPS) Ghana Writing Competition.
The competition, organised by YIPS Ghana, the youth arm of the African Insurance Organisation, attracted more than 40 entries from tertiary institutions across Ghana. Following a rigorous shortlisting and evaluation process, Master Kentera Abongo Justice Jnr. distinguished himself among the finalists, becoming the only participant from a College of Education to make it into the final five.
His exceptional performance made him the overall winner at the grand finale held at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The event which was supported by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG), brought together stakeholders and young talents within the insurance and financial services sector.
The awards, held under the theme “Professionalism Rooted in Integrity: Building a Trusted Insurance Future,” recognised individuals and organisations for their outstanding contributions to the insurance industry. The theme highlights the importance of integrity, competence, and professionalism in creating a trusted insurance sector.
Master Kentera’s achievement is not just a personal success, it is also a reflection of what students of Accra College of Education can achieve. By competing with students from traditional universities across the country and emerging as the overall winner, shows that College of Education students can excel in research, writing, critical thinking, innovation, and other areas beyond teacher education.
