The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wougon, Honorable Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan paid a courtesy visit to the staff and Management of Accra College of Education.

Her visit, which she said was a friendly one, was to thank the College and its staff for supporting the students in this Covid-19 era. Most especially the tutors. She further encouraged the staff to continue with their good works and dedication for the nation.

The MP commended the Principal of the College, Dr. Samuel Awinkene Atintono for his great lobbying skills.

The MP went ahead to add her voice to some lacking facilities in the College. She particularly touched on the College having a very good and conducive learning and teaching environment due to the four-year Education programme the College is currently offering. She also noted that it was sad and dangerous to see students in tertiary institutions searching for hostels around the neighbourhood. In view of that, she promised to complete a hostel facility for the College in order to house all students. She also promised the College some busses which she assured they would receive it no sooner than later. To crown it all, the MP offered to give the College five (5) laptops by the end of the day.

The Principal of the College made mention of how grateful he was with the MP’s visit. He went ahead to appreciate the government on its ongoing GET Fund project in the College. The Member of Parliament finally asked the staff of the college to lay down some of their grievances which they did and she promised them of her support and constant visit to the College.
