About The SRC

The Students Representative Council (SRC) at Accra College of Education is the integral and governing body representing the interests and welfare of the student body. It plays a crucial role in facilitating communication between students and the administration, organizing events and activities, and addressing student concerns.
The SRC at Accra College of Education plays a pivotal role in enriching the student experience, promoting academic success, and fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment.
The Students Representative Council is a non-partisan, non-sectarian association of registered students of the Accra College of Education.
The Accra College of Education SRC is a constituent organization of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS). These associations coordinate all aspects of students’ activities nationally and internationally.
Every registered student of the Accra College of Education is automatically a member of the Students Representative Council and, therefore, encouraged to participate in one or more of the various programs and events of the SRC.

Composition of the SRC

The SRC is typically composed of elected representatives from various departments and levels of study within the college. Key positions within the SRC include:

President: Leads the SRC, represents the student body, and oversees all council activities.

Vice President: Assists the president and assumes leadership in their absence.

General Secretary: Manages correspondence, records minutes of meetings, and maintains official documents.

Financial Secretary: Oversees the financial affairs of the SRC, including budgeting and expenditure.

Treasurer: Lodges all monies with the bankers and keeps and maintains proper records of the Students Representative Council’s imprest.

Organizing Secretary: Plans and coordinates events and activities.

Public Relations Manager: Handles communication and publicity, ensuring effective dissemination of information.

Gender Commissioner: advocates the cause and interest of historically disadvantaged classes of students where exigent circumstances indicate an imbalance in opportunities and interests of classes of students.

The SRC at Accra College of Education plays a pivotal role in enriching the student experience, promoting academic success, and fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment.

The SRC aims to enhance the overall student experience by promoting academic excellence, social engagement, and community involvement. It serves as a platform for leadership development and encourages active participation in college affairs.
